Global city - global village?

Trainings, training materials and tematical portal on the internet related to sustainable construction as well as sustainable development of settlements in Budapest and its agglomeration, in the spirit of the „acquis communautaire” of the European Union, for the participants of the process of granting construction permits

Publications of the project.

The aim of the project is to contribute, through raising the awareness of the participants of the process of granting construction permits, to the elaboration of a more sustainable construction environment in Budapest and its agglomeration.

The target group of the project covers the participants of the process of granting construction permits i.e. chief architects of local governments, engineering executives, notaries/city managers, members of the local governments as well as designing architects. The project covers the engineering experts of both the 23 districts of Budapest and that of the 78 settlements in its agglomeration, altogether almost 1300 people in charge.

Important activities of the project: Two-days trainings for construction executives of municipalities (4 times), two-day trainings for designing architects (4 times), development of printed materials and internet communication surface related to the trainings.

The training of the target group contributes to the development of a more more sustainable construction environment on two levels:

1)       construction executives of public agencies as well as practicing architects become more open towards a practice of resettlement and design of buildings with an eye on the best practices of the European experience on environmental sustainability,

2)       Members of the target group, understanding the necessity of sustainability, could maintain a pressure, bottom-up, on the leaders of the capital as well as settlements in the agglomeration, also, on the investors in order to achieve a more sustainable constructed environment.
